"The Play's the Thing"

Take the stage in this very interactive class. Activities include script reading. theater games, creative movement, choreography (that's dancing), character songs, and comedy timing.
For ages 6 - 12.

When: Two (2) Sessions, Monday-Thursday, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Session I: July 7, 8, 9, 10; 14, 15 , 16, 17; 4:00 PM performance on Saturday, July 19

Session II: July 28, 29, 30, 31; August 4, 5, 6, 7; 4:00 PM performance on Saturday, August 9

Cost: $150/Session

Summer Stock Showcase Production Class

Work on songs, dances, monologues and scenes to prepare for performance in the Thumbnail Summer Showcase.
For ages 12 - 19

When: Thursday, 1:00 - 5:00 PM

July 10, 17, 24, 31, and August 7; 2:00 PM Matinee Performances on Saturday, August 9 & Sunday August 10

Cost: $175

Musikgarten® Early Childhood Music Classes

Thumbnail Theater is proud to offer the internationally acclaimed early childhood music program Musikgarten®, which offers a comprehensive curricula for children from birth to age nine. Through joyful and engaging classes, students (and parents) develop skills and become familiar with musical concepts. Based on current learning theory and sound musical practice, these yearlong, non-performance classes provide an excellent foundation for further musical experiences. Come sing, dance, and play and meet other families who enjoy sharing and participating in music making. Choose a class for you and your child to share. Siblings welcome!

Family Music for Babies (Ages birth – 18 months, approximately)

Play musically with your baby through bouncing, wiggling, and rocking songs, dancing, moving, singing, and playing simple instruments. Music play activities are designed to increase your child’s curiosity about music, and to establish the foundation for singing and musical thought.

When:         Thursdays, 10:30-11:00am (30 minutes) Call for start dates.
Costs:         $75 for each 10-week session (Fall, Winter, Spring)
                     $30 materials fee for each 10-week session
Class Size:   Minimum – 5, Maximum 10

Family Music for Toddlers (Ages 18 months – 3 years, approximately)

This level of classes expands the repertoire of songs, rhythmic rhymes, finger play, musical stories, instrument exploration, and movement to music for the young and adult participants.

When:   Thursdays, 9:30-10:15am (45 minutes) Call for start dates.
Costs:    $100 for each 10-week session (Fall, Winter, Spring)
               $30 materials fee for each 10-week session
Class Size:   Minimum – 5, Maximum 10

The Cycle of Seasons (Ages 3-5 years, approximately)

This series of classes encourages the child and accompanying adult(s) to participate in the singing of call-and-response and simple songs, kinesthetic movement, percussion play, the use of solfegge (Do-Re-Mi) and rhythmic language, and exposure to instruments of the orchestra.

When:   Thursdays, 1:00-1:45pm (45 minutes) Call for start dates.
Costs:    $100 for each 10-week session (Fall, Winter, Spring)
               $40 materials fee for each 1 ½ sessions (Fall/Winter, Winter/Spring)
Class Size:   Minimum – 5, Maximum 10

Music Makers: At Home in the World (Ages 5-6, approximately)

Part 1 of a sequential two-year program offering the child a solid foundation in music making. Classes include activities that assist the student in training the ear, coordinating the body and voice, and establish fundamental musical skills.

When:   Thursdays, 2:00-3:00pm (1 Hour) Call for start dates.
Costs:   $125 for each 10-week session (Fall, Winter, Spring)
              $50 materials fee for each 1 ½ sessions (Fall/Winter, Winter/Spring)
Class Size:   Minimum – 5, Maximum 10

Music Makers: At the Keyboard, Year 1 (Ages 8-10, approximately)

An introductory group piano class for young beginners. This method approaches music reading through both aural and visual activities and provides a natural pathway to learning that lays the foundation for success at the piano.

When:   Thursdays, 4:00-5:00pm (1 Hour) Call for start dates.
Costs:   $125 for each 10-week session (Fall, Winter, Spring)
              $55 materials fee for each 1 ½ sessions (Fall/Winter, Winter/Spring)
Class Size:   Minimum – 4, Maximum – 6

All Together Now – Mixed Age Class for Homeschoolers

Learning together as a family is what makes homeschooling special. Now come sing, dance and play together while learning musical concepts.

When:   Thursdays, 11:30am-12:30pm (1 Hour) Call for start dates.
Costs:   $125/family for each 10-week session (Fall, Winter, Spring)
              $25/family materials fee for each 10-week session
Class Size:   Minimum – 5 families, Maximum – Depending on sizes of participating families
